CHIROPRACTIC AUDITS CONTINUE TO INCREASE!

Chiropractic has been under scrutiny by the OIG (Office of the Inspector General), being subjected to Medicare Audits and CERT (Comprehensive Error Rate Testing) reviews for more than a decade.

The OIG findings conclude that Medicare continues to issue improper payments for chiropractic services that are medically unnecessary, incorrectly coded, insufficiently documented, or not documented at all.

From the start, documentation errors, lack of documentation, and lack of medical necessity have been, and continue to be among the profession's biggest documentation pitfalls.

The bottom line is that the audits will continue. If you have not gotten a request for records it is only a matter of time. Let us help you get it right in 2018.
