Medicare has recently changed the ABN (Advanced Beneficiary Notification). Mandatory Use- Effective June 21, 2017, you MUST be using the new form.
While there are no changes to the form itself, it has been revised to include language informing beneficiaries of their rights to CMS nondiscrimination practices and how to request the ABN in an alternative format if needed. Providers should take note of the newly incorporated expiration date found in the lower left corner of the form. (The new one will read 03/2020.)
